“It’s great that the script of our first film has found a place in the Oscar Library. We got overwhelming reactions from across the board and now the news of the script going to the Oscar library; can’t get better than this,” Ritesh Sidhwani, movie’s producer said.
“Farhan and Ritesh are extremely talented film-makers. They embody the new spirit of Indian cinema. They are cutting edge and looking to explore new boundaries. Big Picture is proud to be working and foster such talent” says Rajesh Sawhney, President, Reliance Big Entertainment, co-producers of the film.
The letter signed by Gregory Walsh, Script Librarian says, “The script will be part of the permanent script collection and will be made available for research to only actors, students, filmmakers and writers who are part of the regular patrons. The script will not be allowed to be circulated outside the library premises or photo-copied.”
The film, which released on August 29 this year, got a tremendous response worldwide and was recently showcased at the Indian Visions Film Festival of Washington, DC.
Apart from Farhan Akhtar, the film’s starcast included Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli, Shahana Goswami and Luke Kenny.
Kareena Kapoor could not meet British PM Gordon Brown
Our desi girl Kareena Kapoor has become a global figure. The actress, who wooedHollywood star Sylvester Stallone, even got noticed by the UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown!
Kareena was invited for a gala event by the House of Commons as a special guest of the PM at his residence 10, Downing Street on November 18th.
She was supposed to meet Brown himself and also be honored as an international ambassador and join the Silver Star charity, that helps in spreading awareness about diabetes.
However, she couldn’t make it.
She was tied down with prior commitments to Sajid Nadiadwala, for whose film - Kambakht Ishq - she is shooting with Akshay Kumar in Mumbai.
Kareena’s spokesperson confirmed the news, “She was looking forward to attending this prestigious event, but had to opt out. However, Kareena intends joining the Silver Star charity and working closely with them soon.”
Carmen Electra with Akshay Kumar in Kambakht Ishq!
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is pulling out all the stops to ensure maximum Hollywood presence in his action flick, Kambakht Ishq.
After roping in Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards for cameos in the film, the enterprising producer is learnt to be in talks with America’s pin-up girl Carmen Electra for a song in the film!
The number will be a promotional track.
Akshay Kumar plays a Hollywood stuntman in the movie while Kareena Kapoor plays a celebrity.
But dancing with none other than the diva of oomph Carmen Electra, the bombshell - who gets the men drooling over her in less time than it takes to write this - that would be something novel for any actor in Bollywood history!
If reports are to be believed, Carmen is expected to come down to Mumbai (India) in February next year to shoot the said song.
Aamir Khan’s six different looks in Ghajini’s Behka song!
The USP of Ghajini is not just Aamir Khan’s physique but also a song, Behka, where Aamir has six different looks that too in a single frame!
A source present on the film sets said, “Aamir was quite skeptical about whether he would be able to pull off the six different looks required for the song. But he took it as a challenge.”
In the song, Aamir is wooing Asin, his leading lady in the film.
The song was choreographed by Ahmed Khan. Arjun Bhasin (Rang De Basanti) styled the look and Avan Contractor (Dil Chahta Hai) did Aamir’s hair.
It was shot in Cape Town (South Africa) for around 20 days.
How did they stumble upon the idea of the looks?
Ahmed Khan said, “While flying to South Africa, I told Aamir about my idea of putting all six looks in a single frame, which was possible with the use of motion control camera.
He too jumped at the idea, knowing it would be a difficult one to pull off. He’s wearing clothes that he’s never been seen in before like low waist and narrow fit jeans, low-neck chest revealing tees, hats and other fashionable clothes.”

Bollywood’s A-lister actor, director and Oscar-nominated producer Aamir Khan is all geared up for CNN’s Talk Asia Live event, that will be shown on December 17.
CNN’s Anjali Rao will be talking to Aamir in Mumbai (India) and you could add your voice to the proceedings!
Email your questions for Aamir and Anjali Rao will quiz him (with the best ones) at the live filming, at the end of November.
Aamir has become one of he most sought-after actors in Bollywood, taking his own path in a career that began when he was a child actor. He rose to international prominence in 2001 with Lagaan, which was also his first foray into production.
The film caught the attention of a global audience with its mix of Bollywood melodies and a strong emotional and dramatic narrative. It also caught the eye of the Academy Awards and was nominated for the Best Foreign Language film prize.
He told TIME Magazine: “I think in many ways that the Western audience, especially the American audience, is very similar to the Indian audience. Indians like films to sweep us off our feet. We don’t necessarily need things to be realistic or subtle.”

Apun Ka Choice:Dostana rocks, when it’s funny. But it shocks, when you see a nicely developed plot lose its substance and become just a bland and emotionless tale of friendship and love in the second half. You have to have a slightly cheeky sense of humor to like a film like this, which is packed with over-the-top gay gags and ample gloss to glaze your eyes. So even though the film entertains you, it doesn’t touch your heart the way it could have.
CNN-IBN:Dostana is a barrel of non-stop laughs; a film that pulls out all stops in its shameless attempt to win you over. It’s an immensely entertaining watch, with producer Karan Johar’s light-and-frothy signature style stamped across every frame. Dostana isn’t great cinema, nothing close to it, but it puts the fun back into the movies. You laugh harder than you have in a long time, and for that reason alone, gather your friends and give it a watch!
DNA India:Dostana entertains with aplomb! Hindi cinema finally comes out of the closet. The characters get ample chance to extend the parameters of conventional cinema without toppling into the abyss of over-statement.
Glamsham:For John’s butt, Priyanka’s sexiness, Abhishek’s antics, Boman’s brilliance and Kiron Kher’s mother-in-law act, this film will have the audience clapping. If you are willing to ignore the flaws, then you are in for a good time with this Yaarana from Yashraj Films and Dharma Productions. IndiaFM:Recall the Kanta bhen episode in Karan Johar’s Kal Ho Naa Ho. That was a mere trailer. Dostana takes that episode to another level altogether! It’s a winner all the way. In terms of content, it might just prove to be a trendsetter. In terms of business, the film holds tremendous appeal for the youth.
Movie Talkies:Dostana is a delightful comedy spiced with just the right element of the gayeity factor. There is certain cheekiness about the film, especially in the very blatant manner in which it deals with gay relationships. But underlying the light-hearted fun, are a few very touching and real moments, which make this a must watch film for all. New York Times:It may seem like a cheat - or inevitable - that the heroes of the first main-stream Bollywood movie to feature gay characters are just pretending, but the decent-hearted comedy Dostana deserves credit. It irreverently normalizes a topic that has been virtually absent from screens in India (where gay sex is still technically illegal), and does so using contemporary Bollywood’s best not-so-secret weapon: star power.
Now Running:What we have finally is a film that is kabhi funny, kabhi un-comfortably squishy and squirmish, decently entertaining all through until it turns floppy and soppy and finally fizzles out faster than Diet Pepsi with a lame end that just makes you wonder: When will mainstream Indian cinema actually Kome out of the Kloset?
Rediff:Dostana is injuriously entertaining! Times Of India:Dostana essentially employs the comedy of errors code, though not in terms of mistaken personalities but preferences. Karan Johar extends his legacy of Kanta bhen humor as the crux of the story. Dostana would have ended up as a regular love-triangle, if not for the intelligently-incorporated gay angle. Further more, it survives significantly and skillfully throughout the film springing up smart surprises every now and then. Dostana redefines the ‘feel-good’ genre and makes up for some ‘homo-genius’ entertainment!
Video: Rock On!! babe Shahana in Dido’s music video!
I’m sure everyone - who loves to listen/watch rock bands in India - have watched Farhan Akhtar’s Rock On!! movie and you would recall Debbie (Shahana Goswami) the fiery wife of Joe (Arjun Rampal).
Well, I just spotted her in one of Dido’s music video and thought of sharing this with my blog’s readers. Dido is an American singer famous for her albums like No Angel and Life For Rent.
This song is from Dido’s latest album Safe Trip Home and is titled Lets Do The Things We Normally Do. The video is about a taxi driver (Shahana) who drives around the streets of Mumbai, India.
